Review of the film The arrival of Conrado Sierra By Rane Pereyra

The very first film I could watch in IFFK 2016 is the Arrival of Conrado which is directed by Rene Pereyra. The film is based on the story of a widow mother and her five daughters who lived in Mexico during 1940 s. Nifa is the youngest of the five sisters of the mother named Dona Josefina.  Nifa is very much loved and cared by her sisters and mother. She loved Conrado Sierra who is believed to be a handsome boy by the town people and Nifa’s family. They got to know each other by writing letters. The post man is a young boy who plays a major character in this film. Many times he visited Nifa to convey the letters. I thought he is the one who loves NIfa and for his fear he could not tell Nifa that he is writing letters to her, but I was wrong. Because there was a man named Conrado who lived in America. Nifa’s family supported her love as they all had  different love failure story and could not get a life as the expected

That clearly under stands when this person[Conrado]  arrives. As the picture shown above he comes with a large crew and the family waits for him arranging large party including dance circus and other kind of entertainments. The family expects a handsome boy but apart from that a black tall man arrived. Nifa was happy seeing him but her mother Dona josefina was not very much happy to see him.  Dona refused the marriage between Nifa and  Conrado Sierra. he was forced to live the town where Nifa was ready to marry him finally with the permission of mother and sisters Nifa lives the villege with Conrado.

 As all this story takes in a village the director could arrange some good scenery he could completely bring us the feeling of a village and there way of living.  Losing the expectation to marry Nifa Coonrado  leaves the village but somehow he sees a letter by her and returns to the village mean while Nifa was ready to go with him. The background music of this film is really good. The camera work is also good.
